Innophoria sneak preview!

This is one of the scenes (of an NGO office) from the Innophoria game.

Keeping the spirit of co-creation alive, we’d like to get your opinion on our work so far.

What do you think of the office?

Is there anything missing?

How does it differ from your own workplace?

Please let us know your opinions in the “comments” section of this blog and we’ll do our best to incorporate as many ideas from you all as possible.

Come back soon to check out more scenes from Innophoria.

I can’t see any coffee in this office and not much seems to happen with out it.

  2. JONASBV Says:

Definitely that NGO is not located in Argentina, where you could find thermoses and mate in almost every table…and muuuuuch older PC’s!

    Jonete

  3. Mal Warwick Says:

Hmmm. What are all those black holes in the middle of the floor?

  4. Pia Says:

What about adding some “must have” books, like the ones published by The White Lion Press?… Lucy and Joe should charge them for the advertorial, of course. Also, I´d say it looks a bit too tidy, doesn´t it? I would add some Post-its, a white board and markers.

  5. John Says:

No staff, lots of free desks and computers, can I come and work there please, Lucy?

  6. Sibylle Says:

Couldn’t find the stereo/music-device, I was looking for. And thought: Some PC should maybe run Linux and are there any Macs? Other than that, I think it needs a little bit of dust and a little more people and it’s going to be very likeable to me.

  7. Howard Lake Says:

What about a mobile phone or two lying around on the desks?

And a wastebin (or recycling bin)?

It’s remarkably free of paper and clutter. Only three sets of shelves and none of them full?! Maybe a few piles of paper/magazines/reports on or underneath the tables would make it look more like the kind of office I’ve worked in :)

  8. Kate Says:

Not sure what NGO offices you spend your time in, Lucy and Joe, but this is way too smart. FIrst up, you rarely find matching PCs - everyone has different kit (and software) as machines are added as staff come and go. And they are rarely this new and shiny - oldsville rules.

Matching furniture, funky chairs??? Nah, different desks, some bought new, some begged and borrowed from other depts, or even other orgs wanting to find them good homes.

Oh and piss poor lighting coupled with cheap Ikea desklamps.

Might not be eye candy design wise but definitely my scenario is more realistic!

  9. Juan Cruz Says:

Agreed! No coffee machine, no bean bugs, no whiteboard (with washable markers!)…how does innovation could happen there? ;-)

  10. Kike Says:

Yeah, looks like everything it’s too clean and almost perfectly arranged. It would be closer to my “southamerican interpretation” of an UK NGO office, but apparently my colleagues here also agree it’s not.
It lacks of some mess, definitely not matching PCs and desktops (maybe a couple of laptops with stickers on the cover), bins sure, and would add a non that efficient distribution of the space, if you know what I mean. For me, NGO relared people tend to be very dedicated and creative about the core issues of the office, but somehow very “untalented” for the use and design of the spaces.
    I like the wallpaper though!…
