Twitter Billboard - from Innophoria Labs at the 29th IFC!!

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

The Innophoria team are pleased to announce the debut of the Twitter Billboard at this year’s 29th International Fundraising Congress (IFC) in Norwijkerhout, the Netherlands this October 20th-23rd so get ready to start tweeting your way through the sessions!

The Twitter Billboard converts a virtual web 2.0 experience into an offline conference experience and will allow people to send their comments and opinions to the billboard in real-time, opening communications up to all 900 participants in the IFC!!

Want to recommend a session or arrange a meet-up in the hotel bar later, just Tweet it to #29thIFC and it will instantly appear on the billboard!!

Unfortunately, Lucy will be working hard at a refugee camp this year so won’t be making it to Holland. She will, however, be following the session online and is looking forward to Tweeting to you all throughout the congress so look out for her on the billboard…and don’t forget to let leave your comments and let us all know what you think!

Innophoria car

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

Lucy Innophoria has been travelling a lot recently and her organization has finally decided to get her a car.

She needs something that will run well in both the city and on the field.

She’s been given four options and is currently leaning towards the black Mercedes… but is not sure she’s going to be able to justify it!

What do you think she should go for?

The car chosen will appear in the Innophoria game…

Please leave your comments below.

What do you think of the office?

Is there anything missing?

How does it differ from your own workplace?

Please let us know your opinions in the “comments” section of this blog and we’ll do our best to incorporate as many ideas from you all as possible.

Come back soon to check out more scenes from Innophoria.

The evolution of Joe

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Evolution

Noun

1. Biol a gradual change in the characteristics of a population of animals or plants over successive generations.

2. a gradual development, esp. to a more complex form [Latin evolutio an unrolling]

Being a 3D animation character, and not a conventional homosapien, Joe’s evolution from rough sketch to handsome young chap, was far from Darwinian!

On the plus side, he managed to skip over some of the human species’ less attractive stages, amoebaism for example! But the downside is that at one stage, Joe looked like this:

A short while afterwards, Joe cleaned up his image somewhat, shaved his goatee and got a haircut.

And after a few more tweaks, Joe finally became the handsome fundraising manager we know and love.

Keep posting!

Now that the first stage of Innophoria is up and running, stories for cards are coming in thick and fast.

Well done to our colleagues in the UK, Argentina and Chile for posting the first three cards…EVER!

1) We recently came up with an idea for an international campaign which was severely affected by the lack of commitment and follow-up by the heads of project. (Negative Card. Anon. Argentina).

2) A couple of months ago, we invested in a mobile phone fundraising project. So far, the response has been very positive and we finally seem to be entering a whole new stage. (Positive Card. Anon. Chile).

3) A few years ago, I desperately needed a new database to run my committed giving, major gift and legacy fundraising campaigns. I ended up with three, none of which linked to the other! (Negative Card. Anon. UK).

As you can see, our experiences with innovation in the social sector are vast and we have so much to learn from each other. So keep posting, all of your stories are so important to increasing awareness of innovation in the sector.

Lucy, alive and kicking!

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

So it appears that we weren’t that far off with our character designs for Innophoria!

It only took about five minutes before we noticed an uncanny Lucy double, Angharad McKensie from WaterAid UK, wandering around the International Fundraising Congress in the Netherlands, last week.

Angharad/Lucy was one of 100 participants in the Innophoria workshops, which attracted representatives from a variety of international NGOs, including UNICEF, UNHCR, Amnesty International, British Red Cross, NSPCC, WSPA and many more.

How long will it be before we find a Joe?
